ICSI Treatment
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection – A breakthrough solution for male factor infertility
What is ICSI?
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is an advanced fertility treatment where a single healthy sperm is directly injected into an egg to facilitate fertilization.
ICSI is particularly effective for couples facing male factor infertility issues such as low sperm count, poor sperm motility, or abnormal sperm morphology.
At Triman IVF, our embryologists use cutting-edge micromanipulation techniques to perform ICSI with precision, significantly improving fertilization rates even in challenging cases.
When is ICSI Recommended?
- Low sperm count or poor sperm motility
- Previous IVF failure due to fertilization issues
- Surgical sperm retrieval cases
- Unexplained infertility
- When using frozen eggs
The ICSI Process
1
Egg & Sperm Preparation
After egg retrieval, mature eggs are prepared for fertilization by removing surrounding cells. Simultaneously, sperm are carefully washed and prepared to select the healthiest samples.
2
Microinjection
Our skilled embryologist carefully selects a single healthy sperm and precisely injects it directly into the cytoplasm (center) of each mature egg using specialized micromanipulation equipment.
3
Fertilization Check
The injected eggs are cultured in specialized incubators, and fertilization is assessed 16-18 hours later by checking for the presence of two pronuclei, indicating successful fertilization.
4
Embryo Development & Transfer
Fertilized eggs develop into embryos over 3-5 days. The highest quality embryos are then selected for transfer into the uterus, with any remaining good-quality embryos being frozen for future use.
